Shap Local History Society looks at Victorian Shap.

Shap Local History Society will open its summer exhibition in the Heritage Centre at the Market Cross over the May Bank Holiday weekend. This year’s topic ‘The development of Shap in the Reign of Queen Victoria’ will look at the major events and changes seen by the village during that period. Full details here

We are a small community situated on the A6 between Penrith and Kendal. We are on the edge of the English Lake District and at the crossing point of the End to End cycle route and Coast to Coast walk.

Our guestbook is now working again so please feel free to leave us a message.
